Tips for creating strong passwords
Your password is the first line of defense against fraud—and at ZYNLO, we take your security seriously. While we use multi-factor authentication (MFA) and advanced monitoring to keep your account safe, strong passwords are still essential. Here’s how to create one that works for you, not against you.
1. Try the Passphrase Format
Not all strong passwords are complicated. In fact, the best ones are often simple phrases that follow a smart structure.
By combining familiar words with symbols and numbers, you can build a password that’s both secure and easy to remember.
Try this format:[Word] + [Symbol] + [Phrase] + [Number]
Example: Sunset@OverTheLake88
Why it works:
Passphrases like this are easier to remember than random strings, but still tough for attackers to crack.
They combine length, character variety, and unexpected word combinations—three essentials for strong password security.
2. Avoid Personal Info
Don’t use names, birthdays, addresses, or anything someone could find on your social media. Hackers often start with what they know.
3. Use a Password Manager
It’s tough to remember a different password for every account. A password manager can generate and store strong passwords securely—so you don’t have to.
4. Change Passwords Periodically
Especially if you suspect suspicious activity. You don’t need to change them monthly, but once or twice a year is a good habit—unless you’ve reused a password elsewhere (which we don’t recommend!).
6. Watch for Phishing
Even the strongest password won’t help if you give it away. Never enter your login info on suspicious websites or links from unknown senders. ZYNLO will never ask for your password via email or text.
Final Thought:
Strong passwords are a simple but powerful way to protect your money. Combine them with multi-factor authentication and smart habits, and you’re well on your way to safer banking.
